My skills are in Industrial design, and I have corporate and startup experience in consumer electronics, test equipment, gaming controllers, housewares, soft goods, and more.

As an industrial designer and entrepreneur, my background includes working with startups, fast-paced agencies, and Fortune 500 companies with global R&D offices.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve helped launch a wide range of products, including consumer electronics, professional tools, licensed toys and video game accessories, personal care devices, and my own consumer brands.

  • Strong sketching is essential for an industrial designer to brainstorm and visualize ideas before moving on to 3D CAD modeling.

It is a critical component of my design process and allows me to refine nebulous ideas for critical stakeholder approval, improve functionality, create products that meet end-user’s needs, and speed up the design process.

  • Before building a physical prototype, I leverage advanced 3D design software software that includes computer-aided design (CAD) abilities for 2D drawings and precise 3D modeling.

I use industry standard programs like Rhino, and SOLIDWORKS to accelerate my process and help clients create, analyze, visualize, and communicate design intent and aesthetics.

  • Industrial design rendering is creating realistic visual representations of a product using computer programs like Keyshot.

These visuals are essential for understanding product functionality, and aesthetics to align expectations before moving on to more complicated stages of development. By showcasing high-quality visuals for review, we can discuss and test products before manufacturing and use the high-resolution output for marketing purposes like for website and sales assets.

  • Industrial design prototyping can be seen as a bridge between the initial concept design stage and the production stage of manufacturing.

Prototyping will progress iteratively in conjunction with product design to ensure that the development process continues to perform as designed and intended.

I own 2 types of 3D printers for low- to high-fidelity prototyping in my garage. Additionally, I partner with local domestic and international vendors to make prototypes at various levels. This way, we can test and validate before spending large capital expenses on tooling and molds.

  • Product sourcing is finding manufacturers and suppliers for the products a company sells. There are a few different ways to source products, and the most effective approach depends on your product and market.

For example, some companies source products from buying agents in China, while others source products from domestic suppliers. The most important thing is to find a reliable manufacturer that can provide high-quality goods at a competitive price.

As your partner, with my contract manufacturer network and product-sourcing strategy, we can save money and improve your bottom-line margins.
